"The doctors said Jayden might only live until he was four but he’s a wee fighter and this March he marked his fourth birthday. We hope and pray he will make his fifth birthday too but we also have to face the fact that he might not. "
- Lynn, Jayden's mum
"My name is Lynn, and I have a beautiful little boy, Jayden. When Jayden was just 18 months old, he was diagnosed with Tay Sachs disease, a very rare, incurable disease, which progressively destroys the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Doctors said Jayden probably wouldn't live until his fourth birthday, but he's a wee fighter and he turned four in March. We know that he might not live until his fifth birthday.
But thanks to kind and generous people like you, my family can make the most of every moment we have with Jayden, while we still can."
At CHAS, we help families with the the time they have together, to make it the best that it can be. The pandemic has taken time away from all of us. As life slowly returns to normal, we will make up for lost time. We will recover from this. But for children with life-shortening conditions and their families, their illness will never go away. Right now, there are 16,000 children in Scotland with a life shortening condition. We're only able to reach one in three of these children and their families.
Your support will help reach more children in Scotland who urgently need help. Now, before it's too late. Please donate to Children's Hospices Across Scotland today.
